Family Members Family members can include parents, grandparents, brothers, and sisters. Listen for who the question is about. Choose the Person Grandparents Who Questions A question starting with “Who” asks about a person. Use the other words in the question to work out which person is meant. Find the Answer Who Is This? How Old Questions “How old” asks about someone’s age. Listen for a number in the reply. Ask About Age Age Reply Number Clue An age answer often includes a number and the word “years.” Use both to recognize the information. What Questions “What” can ask about a favorite activity or thing. The words after “What” help you choose a useful answer. Favorite Activity Likes Where Questions “Where” asks about a place. A place word in the reply can help you check that you understood. Find the Place Where Clue Listen and Reply Listen for the question word and the family member named. Then give a short answer that matches what was asked. Match the Reply Pause and Notice Before answering, notice the question word and the person it refers to.
